David is presently serving his second term on the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners where he has served as chairman and vice-chairman. He is a candidate who is strongly committed to our community and the well-being of its citizens.

David is currently serving on the following boards:

• Member - Brevard Chamber of Commerce Board
• Member - Transylvania County Tourism Development Authority Board
• Member - Gorges State Park Advisory Board
• Member - Transylvania County Personnel Board
• Chairman - Public Safety Facility Planning Committee
• Member - Transylvania County Courthouse Security Committee
• Chairman - SAFE Board of Directors (Local domestic violence program)

 David embraces Roberta Hallinen at Safe’s dedication of it’s new shelter, “Stacey’s House”, named in memory of Roberta’s daughter a victim of domestic violence.

David cuts the ribbon during the opening of SAFEs "The Attic", at their new location.

David previously served on the following boards:

• President - Transylvania Little League - also served as Coach, Manager, and Umpire
• Chairman - Transylvania County Criminal Justice Parnership Board
• Chairman - North Carolina Department of Correction Insurance Committee for 7 years
